Many thanks also to those parents working in essential services to the nurses, doctors, paramedics, hospital workers people in emergency services food transport, garbage truck drivers and others, where we would be without you! We too are doing our best to support all students and care for our own families during this very difficult time, and we know the stress being experienced by people in other industries. Students should only be attending school if they are the child of an essential worker, or if there is no responsible person at home to supervise their child. Since last week, our numbers have continued to increase. However, at Kent Road 11-12% of students are attending each day. Many thanks to all the parents who are abiding by the NSW Public Health orders and keeping their children at home.Ĭurrently student attendance statistics across Sydney indicate 1-3% of students are attending school.

STAY AT HOME – NSW PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS UPDATE We are all hopeful the situation will soon improve and we can welcome back all students, but at this time ensuring the safety of students, families and staff is the priority. I thank everyone who has been able to follow the NSW Public Health directions to stay at home where possible. Families with children in multiple grades will be able to collect each of the required packs at the same time. The packs will be available all day so there is no need to rush. If you arrive at school and there is a crowd please wait at a distance until the crowd moves on. The packs will be available next week from the front office. If you or your child is unwell do not come to the school tomorrow. Parents must wear a mask and remain socially distanced. I ask that where possible only students enter the school to collect the pack whilst parents wait outside the gate but I understand this may be more difficult for Kindergarten students. Please come to the school tomorrow, Friday 5th August, to collect the pack which will be available from the assembly hall area, entry only via Gate 3 on Kent Road.Ĭollection points for each grade will be labelled. Teachers have prepared paper packs for Weeks 5, 6 and 7 for students who require one. Kent Road teachers, staff and I look forward to seeing students back in classrooms very soon. I will also provide information regarding Kindergarten 2022 Orientation, Canteen and Uniform Shop next week. More details will be announced next week. It is essential parents continue to maintain physical distance from each other when waiting outside the school. This will be similar to the arrangements we had in place in 2021 when students returned to school. Students will be able to enter the school via any gate but will have a designated gate from which they are to be picked up at the end of the school day. Drop Off and Pick Up Arrangementsįrom 18th October, we will have separate playground areas for each grade, and there will be staggered morning tea and lunch breaks.
